Marathi is located in Akrotiri about 17 km east of the city of Chania. Because it has a southern orientation, it is usually windless and peaceful, in relation to the other northern coasts of Crete. It has two beautiful organized beaches, with sand and shallow waters, ideal for families with children.

The beaches are separated by a small port and its pier. The visitors can enjoy their lunch, coffee and drinks at the near by restaurants and bars which are located just next to the beach.
